Mothers breastfeeding non infants

I have often wondered why mothers continue to breast feed children  who are one year old, eighteen months, or two-three years old.  While living in England, I viewed a talk show about  this subject on the “telly”. Two families were  present on the show; the mothers, the breast fed children, and the husband. One family had a set of three year old twin boys,  who continued to breast feed, and the other family had two girls, ages five and eight years old, who also continued to breast feed. Both mothers often fed the children simultaneously.   Both fathers on the program had very little to say about the situation, other than  they could not prevent their wives from continuing to breastfeed the children. A  friend mentioned to me in conversation, that she had attended a party on the weekend, and had witnessed a mother breastfeeding her 11 year old son, in the main room of the party. Generally, the medical community believes that mother’s milk is only beneficial to the child, for the first six months of  life.  So if there is no health benefit to the child, what could be the reasons that some mothers choose to breastfeed for extended periods of time? Is this a situation of concern?  Are these mothers inappropriate?  Are these parents abusive?  Are there marital issues prompting the mothers to keep the fathers away from themselves?  Have the mothers become emotionally dependent on the children?...

The Real Sexual Abuse

Police officers and detectives, in many cities, spend hours and hours on the Internet, pretending to be pre- adolescent or adolescent girls, looking for adventure and new friends, in hopes of attracting  males interested in young naive females, for sexual purposes. We have seen the scenario on TV with the unaware sexual predator coming to the child’s home, in hopes of a sexual  encounter, only to be met by the camera crew from a major TV network, and the local police. This type of entrapment, is exactly that. Entrapment. In a court of  law, does entrapment have enough weight to convict a person of a crime? Will the entrapped person be punished by a court of  law, and are the police spending a disproportionate amount of time on Internet child predators, when most child predators are not on the Internet? Then who are the child predictors and where are they? Most pedophiles are often  authority  fugues known to the child; they often are good friends of the parents, neighbors, relatives, siblings, or the parents themselves. Then why don’t the police attempt to arrest those child predators, close to the child?  Simple. It’s easier to trace pedophiles through a credit card number used to access child pornography sites on the Internet, than it is to approach a parent  or relative of a child, who denies the sexual abuse, and often there may be no physical  proof. If  the law enforcement in a city takes the easy and convenient way out, then there appears to be no real interest in  children’s sexual protection from abuse and exploitation.  The sexual safety and protection of children appears not to be real, and appears to be only lip service. Child sexual...
